Hello class. My name is Ahmad Bridget, your 6th grade teacher here at Ella Flagg Young school. This will be my 7th year teaching here and I am looking forward to working with you to make this a great year of learning. What is a blog? A blog is a website maintained by an individual or group of people, with regular commentary, descriptions of events, graphics and video. This blog that I have set-up will be used in a few different ways. One of them is to get you familiar with working on your writing by using computers. You will post your opinions on different subjects that is going on in your community, our city and the world. You will also use this blog to complete "blog-only" writing assignments. That means you will be graded on what you write in response to a posted question by the me, the administrator of the blog. Finally, this blog will be a space for you, the student to share your interests with our school and the world.
This is a great opportunity to be a part of world-wide web, however, it is also a great responsibility. We will not use our web-site for inappropriate language, disrespectful conversations about other people, gossip, or any other negative talk. I check every posting! It must be approved by me, the teacher, before it is on our web page.
Your first writing assignment will be a blog-only response to this post. What are your experiences with blogging? Do you have a computer at home or where can you go to use the internet?. Your answers must be in complete sentences. Please answer all three questions.
