Pablo Picasso Art of the Day

I just included a new feature to our blog: Pablo Picasso art of the day.  He is a world famous painter and sculptor who is well known for creating works that are abstract. The sculpture above is located downtown in Chicago's Daley Center.
Look for his art every day.

obama's one voice

Obama is going to be our next president.I know because the way he connect to the people and the way he talk is great. Barack is our next president. My father is the number one man who really want Barack to win.I look at my dad talk about how Barack will win.I tell my dad who will win he will shout Barack Obama!!!!You want change vote for Barack Obama.Vote for him today.

Miah Says:

Great speech! I sure hope that barack obama wins. This video
reminds us about dr. king (martin luther king jr.). This is very presidental
and i'm not sure that i have the right word's for this but Obama is right, we must walk,
move forward.I think that this show's that we should vote for Obama.
I think that he's saying we shouldn't give up,we didn't give up on Dr. King so
we should not give up on him!We must remember what Dr. king did to our
past and made things right, now we must trust Obama on what he'll do to
make our future and present better.Who will you vote for?Make your vote!

Miah Says:

Room 204's Video Pick of the Week

T-Pain mentions three geographic locations in this song. Well, really four but there is no such place as Wiscansin (Wisconsin!!). Room 204 students can earn an extra credit point by locating Aspen-where is it in America? Where in the world is Toronto? As well as locating Costa Rica. Name two neighboring countries. Smarten up!

Punctuation...

When you post to the blog, you have to include periods, commas and other types of punctuation.
Lisbeth, Lafrance...edit your posts and comments!
This blog is not for our class to write like we are texting someone. No shorthand or abbreviations are allowed.
I love being in class 204 it is great and we have lots of fun and learn a lot in here . And my godfather saw the news with my mom and aunt.

UN-UNITED UNITED STATES : a poem

This is the U.S.A. we should not be ashamed,

but people steal someone Else's identity not wanting to use their own name

Two men getting married, a woman having having a wife

five people just got killed, four by gun, one by knife

This is not what I call living a golden life

U.S., join hands in unity,a you, a better me

in a better community

We act as if these fifty states are fifty countries, but we all know

The Illinois of America don't sound right to you or me

Do you pledge allegiance to the UN-united countries of America? because I don't

could you take a stand and join hands? because I will even if you won't

So I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America

We take stand hand in hand to be united forever

chinese outraged at milk scandal

This article was about how the Chinese people babies have been killed from the infant formula mlik.50,000 babies are sickend from that milk. Now parents are taking there babies to the beijing hosipital for ultrasounds and to receive blood. The milk came from a company called Sanlu Group Co. the U.S doesn't allow dairy products from chinese people. Some familes are saying they use Sanlu milk because they think it is an excellent product said Tang Zhongjun father. Tang suffers from malnutrition and keeps falling. They do not plan to sue the company.
If that was me I would sue them because my child is suffering from malnutrition from drinking that milk. That is what this article was about.

my classmates

In my classroom is so cool.We do alot of things, like reading, math, and playing lots of games.some of my friends are cool some are, just plain crazy.

Out a bit early current events news report

i know that it must be difficult the families and friends of Micheal Dahlquist, John Glick, and Douglas Meis to understand why you get sententenced to 8 years and only doing 3 yearsof the time [even if you were mentally ill and trying to commit suicide] for killing three innocent city citezens/musicans because i'm not and i didn't even know any of the vitims. It makes me sad to see how justice is served and how crazy people can be but also at the same time i feel sorry for Jeannette Sliwinski( the criminal) because she really had to be going trough some problems or she had to b e really sick to want to kill herself and now people aren't going to treat her the same now and everyday she has to live with the burden of murder on her hands so i'm torn. im on both sides and i cannot decide which i am more upset about. i know that the victim's loved ones who cannot understand because of too much pain and hurt in the way of your thoughtfullness, it may be hard and it may not ever happen but it wold be nice to forgive but not forget.

A note from the editor...

Hello class. This is your editor Mr. Bridget. Whenever we post something, I want you to use correct grammar and English. No slang, unless it relates to the story you are posting. Always proofread your post before you publish. You will also learn how to post pictures and videos in the coming days.
I would like for our class to post four news summaries today. Including one from each of the news sections: Headlnes, Metro and Sports section. Now that everyone is signed in as authors, we are ready to promote the blog to the school.

Our Deepest Fear

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

The above speech by Nelson Mandela was orignally written by Marianne Williamson who is the author of other similar material."
